COVID-19 Statement

This is an extremely difficult and worrying time for us all and taking into account the government public health advice, the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency) is suspending driving tests for up to three months from 21st March as there is extended contact between candidates and examiner in vehicles. I am closely following guidance provided by the DVSA and will commence lessons when it is safe to do so for both pupils and instructors alike.

There will be a few extra precautionary measures during lessons we will both need to take when restrictions have been eased. For example:

  • Wash hands or use sanitising gel just prior to getting into the car
  • Keep windows open for ventilation
  • Use disposable seat coverings, gloves and face coverings, where appropriate
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a sleeve or tissue
  • Wipe down all surfaces with anti-bacterial wipes and gel before and after each lesson

This wiping down will include contact points such as door handles (inside and out), window controls, seat adjusters, steering wheel and steering wheel height adjuster, parking brake, gear lever, indicator and wiper stalks and light controls. I would ask that you notify me immediately should you start to experience any of the symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone who has shown symptoms, such as a persistent cough or high temperature.
